New registrations rebounded in July, with plug-in vehicle registrations accounting for 19.19% of all new car sales in Ireland last month.

Excluding imports, so far this year (January – July) there’s been a total of:

  • 11,182 battery-only electric vehicles (BEVs) registered, compared to 6,294 in the same period last year, and;
  • 6,422 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) registered, compared to 6,378 in the same period last year.

19.19% of new cars registered in July 2022 were plug-in, comprised of:

  • BEV 2,738 (12.51%)

  • BEV 11,182 (12.84%)
  • PHEV 6,422  (7.37%)
