The reduced toll scheme has been announced by Shane Ross TD, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, and it will hopefully attract more drivers to switch to EVs whether these are PHEVs (Plug-in hybrid vehicle) BEVs (Battery electric vehicle). It will be administrated by TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland, ex NRA).
From July 2018 till 2022
What do I need to avail the discount ?

- Get an EV tag.
- Be one of the 50.000 first drivers to use this scheme.
You can find the different tag providers in the link below, with offers for very low to heavy users :
Make sure this provider does offer the PH/EV discount.
How much will I pay ?
Here is the price of all Irish tolls, for light vehicles whether these are diesel/petrol/hybrid (ICE) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or fully electric (BEV). (rates are as of April 2018, increases might have occured since)
Is there a limit ?
Yes, there is a cap of € 500 per per year for private vehicles, and € 1.000 for commercial vehicles.
